12 Years Later

Here we are. Over a decade later and it is the first time that I have posted anything to my blog. Some would say that I never took my blog seriously. I think that life got in the way and I never made time to make it a priority. My BlogSpot is a great way to keep a journal and I think that I need to get back to viewing it that way. This past decade has been eventful. If that isn't the understatement of the century, I don't know what is. I've served a mission, transferred schools twice, went to New York with the choir at UTPB, joined a barbershop quartet, cut off an engagement, went on a cruise with my parents, found the love of my life and got married, graduated from college, and the list could go on and on. I think the most practical thing for me to do right now is to slowly fill you in on stories that I remember as they become relevant in my current life.  Currently, my wife Megan and I live in Ogden, Utah. I graduated from BYU-Idaho in the fall of 2022, and I have been su

Fermans

Well, as this life as I know it progresses on, so does the need and want for things in life, meaning I need money, meaning I need a job. Ever since Fermans reopened I've been interested in working there. Not to say I didn't look anywhere else. I built fenses over last summer and earned myself not only a good chunk of money, but a considerably good tan. Seeing as unpredictable the weather can be during spring and winter, this job is highly limited to when I'd be most comfortable with it, not to mention I worked during the day and i have school that's in the way of that right now, so I had to put forth the effort to find a job. Fermans was automatically on my mind of course, but my mom being the wise mother that she is suggested I apply other places as well. I got an application for Lowes and ace. Me, being lazy and procrastinating, never got those turned in. I did, however, turn in my Fermans application and got the job at Fermans. So as soon as Lilly, my boss, called m

Girls powerlifting meet

First off, I did not make plans a week ahead of time to even think of helping witb the girls powerlifting meet, let alone be in charge of anything. It all started when the announcement at school was made that help was needed at the meet. So I made sure I didn't have anything planned on Saturday, which of course I didn't, and volunteered to work from 9-11 in the morning. Then I just said to put me down for all day. I had nothing better to do, right? Well it turn out, I've made myself a little too trustworthy. Coach Howard put me in charge of selling tee shirts, which meant I would have to help the night before thr meet when all the girls were weighing in as I was the one that was most trsted by coach Howard out of everyone that signed up. That's a good thing right? Its awesome to be able to be trusted by a lot of people, but it can be exhausting. I helped him out and sold shirts on Friday from about 3-6, and was held responsible for any shirts not sold. Coach has his way

My so-called "love life"

So as I said, anyone would say they saw me and Melanie coming from a mile away, and I enjoy it every day. So you must be wondering how it happened. Well all of high school we've been best friends, and it just so happens that our moms were and still are really good friends. This is why we never really thought about dating, at least she never did. While she was having her boy trouble, otherwise known as the wonderful world of drama, I was one of the greatly trusted people she would talk to. After they broke up, we were still very close, and we hung out quite a bit during the summer, when we were both in town anyways lol went and watched movies, had a good time together. She explained to me that it was just hangin out, I went along with it, but took every chance I could get to "hang out". She claimed that she wasn't ready for any relationship with anybody. Who could blame her after the hard break she had gone through not long before? So I let her have her room. It was so

Where do I start?

So, I guess I have va lot of explaining to do. A lot has happened since last timevi posted, so I will briefly sum up the important events that have occurred since last time through probably several posts. The question is, where do I start? I guess the most important thng for anybody to know in this life of mine is that I love band with a passion and a majority vof my posts will either be about what interesting new thing band directors are able to make funny, or about my girlfriend. Since last time I posted I went through, as messed up and terrible as it sounds, just one girlfriend. Kimbra Watts was and always will be my first girlfriend. But on the contrary of that, Melanie Pogue is the first girl I ever dated and am fortunate enough to still be dating. Kimbra was a very short story, and short relationship. Nothing ever hppened, hardly anybody really knows we were even considered "together", which poses some kind of problem. We just didn't feel right about bein "toge

Catching Up!

Man, it's been so long since I've been on! I miss just being able to not only talk to anybody who looks at this, but with myself. Haha. Well as many of you probably know, I'm the drum major for the Monahans High School Band and it is exhausting! I know I'm a band nerd and everything, but jeez! We had a freshman camp at the end of July and I went to that and I actually considered not going at all, but it turned out, both drum majors were needed and a lot of leaders/upperclassmen because the first day, about 30 freshman showed up! Then when we all gathered together and the band director saying that he new there was about 20 kids missing, I became very scared. Freshman are a lot scarier than you think because they think that since they are finally in High School they can rule the world. I've gotten used to the freshman now, but man! I'm really surprised at how many freshman we have this year! Anyways it didn't end there. Not even close. The next 2 days after

Starting a New Year

Well on New Year's Day I was out hunting with my dad, Nolan and Caleb, my uncle Randle, my Papa, and my cousing Ethan. That sounds like a lot of people and it was for me since the first year I went out there Nolan, Caleb, and Ethan didn't go. Then Nolan showed up last year and now, Caleb and Ethan. It was nice being able to hang out with my family. Sure it was dirty and we probably all smelled bad, but it was worth it. Anyways back to hunting. Nolan and I went up there with our uncle Randle and got to camp around 2:00. The wind was terrible. We got there and the wind was howling blowing just so terribly there was no way that any of us were going to go and sit in a blind. Well when we got there my Papa and Ethan were all ready there. They said the wind was worse the day before. We all went to scout the whole farm and see where we might have a shot. My favorite place to hunt was a corner of the property and a boundary line to what we could hunt. The reason it is my favorite spot
